The incident occurred in Westport around 3:50 p.m. on Bayberry Lane on Sunday, Sept. 17.
According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, the victim returned home and pulled into the garage when two suspects entered and assaulted the homeowner while sitting in a blue Aston Martin.
The man was beaten and then dragged out of the vehicle before it was stolen.
Police have arrested a New Haven County 16-year-old Waterbury boy and a Hartford County man 39-old Derrick McGill, of Berlin, who lives at the home where stolen cars were found, including the Aston Martin, during a search of McGill's residence.
On Thursday, Sept. 21, Woods said the department is searching for a light-skinned man who can be seen on the video in the garage during the carjacking.
They are also attempting to tie McGill to the Westport crime by placing him at the actual scene, Woods added.
McGill, who allegedly runs a chop shop out of his Berlin home, was also found to have a credit card that belonged to the owner of a stolen BMW that was used as a getaway car in the crime, Woods said.
"We are working to actually link him to the crime by placing him at the scene," he said.
Woods added that the 16-year-old involved in the crime, because he was charged with home invasion for the way he entered the garage, will likely be charged as an adult when he appears in court.
While searching McGill's residence, police located four stolen motor vehicles, one of which was the Aston Martin, police said.
"We are searching for the second person in the garage, and perhaps others involved in the crime," Woods said.
